These 13 were the original crew that sailed the Hjemkomst to New York, though only 12 completed the journey to Norway. While the construction of the ship itself was an incredible undertaking, the true meaning of the Hjemkomst (meaning "homecoming" in Norwegian) was only realized by sailing the Atlantic.
